INFANT PROGRAM
(6 weeks – 16 months)
At Spring Hill Academy, we take great pride in offering a nurturing and caring academic environment, beginning with our youngest learners! We utilize the STREAMin³ infant curriculum, built around a research-based program that would best benefit your babies key developmental milestones. Your child’s language skills are best developed during the infancy stage, where babies may recognize familiar words in their native language and become familiar with the voices of their parents and primary caregivers.
Our daily schedule for infants will consist of some consistent time periods, but will mostly be a flexible schedule based on each child’s individual needs. Naps, feeding times, and changing times will all be based on each child and the regularity will vary from one child to another. Our curriculum encourages steady and foundational growth by developing trusting and loving relationships between the child and their teacher. Spring Hill Academy strives to maintain as much regularity as possible in terms of scheduling in order to ensure that your child always has the teacher that makes him/her feel the most comfortable.
The infant program has three classrooms available, based on the child’s age. Each classroom will be set up based on your child’s age range to provide a developmentally appropriate play and learning area.
Infant A (6 weeks to 6 months)
Our classrooms will have floor play spaces with mobiles or other large, soft toy materials to explore. At this age, our teachers will encourage tummy-time and sitting up using swings, pillows, and bounce chairs with a variety of mobiles or play material to interest every child.
Infant B (6 months to 12 months)
At this stage, children may be beginning to sit up or begin crawling, so classrooms have more active play areas in the common space in the classrooms. There will be mirrors, soft blocks, and other infant-approved play materials around the classroom to encourage playing at every stage – all within reach of the infants.
Infant C (12 to 16 months)
This will be the most mobile classroom for infants! Most infants this stage will have developed motor skills to move freely around the classroom so we equip our play areas with multiple toys within reach and soft mat climbers to encourage even more developed movements. This classroom will also have a variety of soft cloth books for a fun and easy start to becoming toddlers. In this nurturing environment, our infants will thrive, grow, and take their first steps toward becoming curious toddlers.
